Shortly after giving a showstopping performance at the Super Bowl, Beyonce, who looks to be having a very busy 2013 announced via a video directed by famed music video director Jonas Akerlund that she will be heading out on a world tour. The concert, titled The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour kicks off in Europe on April 15, and hits North America on June 28.
I thought Bey gave us what we always expect from her -- lots of pyro, hair whipping and booty-shaking choreo, but I also felt that unfortunately she gave us what we've already seen from her as a singer who has been riding solo for almost a decade. The Destiny's Child reunion (although a music industry worst-kept secret) was a nice touch, but if you were going to have your old mates on stage, couldn't you have at least performed Lose My Breath instead of wack ass Independent Woman from the Charlie's Angels soundtrack? Bey, while you are a fierce live performer (who in my opinion didn't really need to prove to anyone that she can sing because we all know she can), I think it's time you step out of your comfort zone a bit and remix some of those hits when you perform them live and give us some challenging choreography, otherwise you'll wind up like a greatest hits singer like Janet Jackson.
Oh, and the comments were endless when people talked about Bey's performance being so explosive it blew out the power in the dome.
