Days after being taken to task for gay rights groups and bored Twitter folks for using a homophobic slur towards Perez Hilton, rumors are circulating that Azealia Banks has been dropped from Interscope.
Azealia has been working on her debut album Broke With Expensice Taste for a long time now, especially since it was supposed to drop in the first quarter of 2013.
It all started when the mouthy rapper got into a twitter fight with an artist named Angel Haze, who released a diss track on Ms. Banks called “On The Edge,” They started going back and forth on Twitter and that's when the mouthy blogger everyone loves to hate decided to jump in.
Banks and Hilton went at it after the blogger criticized Banks' constant fights with other female artists. The rapper, ever so clever, went on to call him "dickbreath" and tell him to "gobble a dick."
Hilton told Banks: "Some of your music is cute, but your attention-seeking ways are pathetic and hurtful. You drag while others choose to uplift!"
Banks responded: "Whatever bitch, you tried to sign me to ur little bum ass label in '11 with them bullshit ass artists..." She later tweeted: "Omg u should just kill yourself... Like for real... lol what a messy faggot you are."
I'm guessing this goes deeper than her homophobic rant. My guess is that the label was having trouble with Azealia and where she was going musically, and it probably didn't hurt that Azealia is not good at keeping her crazy opinions to herself (by the way that hasn't stopped Nicki garbaj, who is smart to know not to use homophobic slurs against her Barbz which I'm sure 90% of them are young queeny gay men).
I'm sure many will say, "well didn't she say she was bisexual? So how can she be homophobic?" I could go on all day about self-hating homos and the like, but I personalyl don't feel like it because to be honest I can't stand Perez. All the years he's made millions off of being discrespectful towards celebrities, drawing penises on their faces, outing others and even calling will.i.am a faggot (which resorted in Perez getting his ass whooped) doesn't make me sympathize with Hilton. My question is would calling Perez a homophobic slur give him enouth pull to have you lose your record deal? I know Lady Gaga is with Interscope, but she's not a big enough person that Perez can call to get Jimmy Iovine to drop her. I'm sure the real reason for the alleged drop will come out, but if her debut never sees the light of day, at least I still have 1991 to play on repeat.
SIDEBAR: If you are going to base your music on the gay underground Chicago house scene, Azealia needs to learn her history. A faggot is not someone who is a gay man that acts like a female, which is her explanation of the word on Twitter. She also tried to justify her use of the word nigga in the same context of using faggot, as if both words aren't offensive. I use both words to make a point, not as a term of endearment. A faggot in my opinion is a messy, ratchet ass gay man not a guy that acts like a female. Those are called butch queens or drag queens.
UPDATE: Azealia has heard the reports of being dropped from Interscope and insists that it's not true. We shall see if it is in fact the case when her debut drops (or not) next month.

More than likely she was dropped due to constant bickering and negative press before she even became big, however I agree a faggot is not a feminine man its a messy ass gay.
