Earlier today Madonna kicked off her MDNA tour in Tel Aviv, and the performance that has all the blogs buzzing (which is exactly what the mother of publicity wants) is her Born This Way/Express Yourself mashup.
Dressed in a marching band outfit (which I'm sure was inspired by her horrible single Give Me All Your Luvin', which was inspired by Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl), she proceeded to go back and forth between the songs before throwing in lines from her Hard Candy track She's Not Me.
As a bonafide Madonna fan, I have to say the jabs at Gaga come across as desperate for attention and pathetic and I would think for someone who is decades older than Gaga that you would take the high road and come across a bit more mature. but I guess when you have run out of ideas and haven't put as much thought and creativity into MDNA like your previous albums, the best you could do is pick a fight with another singer who after four years in the game is fresh out of ideas.
I also noticed in the performance (besides the part of the show where she points a gun at the audience - in a country plagued by war, no less) that Madonna looked pretty exhausted and this is the first show. Clearly instead of makimg music to show the new generation how a performer really gets down she's busy coming down to their level and putting out uninspired dance music. So if you care, check out Madonna and her rickety bones work up a sweat below...
In the other two videos which open the show, Madonna, who I feel has gotten a little too caught up in her own self-righteous attitude towards peace and spirituality ever since Ray of Light finally brought her respect as a musician talks to the audience about things that are important to her, like peace in the world after a violent opening number.
Check out this awesome new fan-made trailer of The Expendables 2, which pokes fun at the decline of real action and features the music of Andrew W.K.
As a hardcore action movie fan I have to say I have become quite annoyed with the lack of real action heroes in the new generation and so much emphasis on CGI. I loved The Expendables and can't wait for the sequel to come out in August.

The Harajuku clown who I will always refer to as Nicki Garbaj is caught in the middle of a pretty bloody controversy. It was recently reported that a 21 year old Irish foreign exchange student name Nicola Furlong attended Garbaj's concert in Tokyo and after the concert missed the last train. One of Garbaj's alleged dancers James ‘King Tight’ Blackston and his friend Larry invited Nicola back to their hotel room to hang out until the trains started up in the morning. Nicola and her female friend took a cab with the guys back to the hotel and the friend, who survived the attack says that they were under the influence of alcohol at the time and that she was fondled on the way to the hotel.
Once they arrived at the hotel, Nicola went with Larry into his room while James and Nicola's friend disappeared into another. Guests started reporting noises coming from the room around 3 a.m. and when security arrived to investigate, Larry was found standing over Nicola's lifeless body. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Tokyo police say that she died of suffocation by cervical compression and may have been sexually assaulted after she was already dead. They’re also investigating whether or not the girls were slipped a Mickey before the incident occurred.
Nicki took to Twitter to squash rumors that the girl's killer was part of her entourage, which was reported by fact-retarded Perez Hilton.
Says Nicki on Twitter:
“Saddened to learn one of my precious fans found tragically (dead) in Japan. My love & prayers are with the family of Nicola Furlong.
@PerezHilton my dancers had nothing to do w/this tragedy. No one in my entourage was questioned or arrested. They all flew home from Japan. @PerezHilton that person on your sight is NOT my dancer. We do NOT know the men in custody. Too much misleading information.”
As for James Jamari Blackston, all we know about him is that he has toured with celebs like Black Eyed Peas and is an associate of singer Omarion. On his Facebook page he said that he was touring with Nicki which is where Perez probably got his information. Nicola's family also asked for people to respect their family's privacy.

While Lady Gaga has been busy overseas on her 100+ date Born This Way Ball tour, the singer has been pretty quiet on the new music front. Her manager Vincent Herbert spilled the tea (or lack thereof) to That Grape Juice on her upcoming album. In the video below he also talks about upcoming records from his wife Tamar Braxton and Mindless Behavior.
Gaga is basically pulling a Rihanna, recording new music in between breaks from the tour. Hopefully the next album is much more cohesive and less of a clusterfuck which made up most of Born This Way.
A few weeks ago NPH tweeted that he was at home making a little BBQ for Lady O, but what I thought was really cool about the news (besides the fact that Oprah was eating BBQ) is that Oprah was filming it all for an upcoming sit down on her OWN channel.
In the episode Oprah sits down with NPH and his fiancé, David Burtka and takes a tour of their home, plays with their twins, and talks a plethora of topics like marriage, coming out and if they feel pressure as a gay couple to make their relationship work.
The full episode of Oprah's Next Chapter Sunday, June 3, at 9/8c on OWN.
So Chris Brown released a new video today called Til I Die, and guess what - he didn't even have to do any research on his role in the vid as a tool. The video features Chris with a mouth full of gold teeth, Wiz Khalifa srouting wings at a weed-infested house party, and lots of shirtless hood rats. When you've pretty much got more money than the dudes hugging the block, it's not believable when you're trying to perpetuate yourself as a thug.
What I found most insulting is that Breezy dedicated the video to late Beastie Boy member Adam Yauch on Twitter, who I believe would be rolling in his freshly scented grave over that insult, because with Adam being a Buddhist and all he's not for beating on women and encouraging women to show their bits on a webcam.
Check out Chris' nigger nonsense video below...
As a redeeming bonus, instead of wasting another blog post talking about another song off his album or another video, I've also added Countdown, which finds Breezy questioning the state of the world like our current gobal economic crisis.
Jeremy Renner takes over the Bourne franchise from Matt Damon in the upcoming action film The Bourne Legacy. Before people get their tits all in a twist, Renner is not playing Jason Bourne. Writer/director Tony Gilroy expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.
Renner plays Aaron Cross, an agent of Treadstone who goes rogue after the government decides he and others like him need to be wiped out. Rachel Weisz (wife of James Bond himself Daniel Craig) plays a scientist who helped build the Bourne program, finds herself in the middle of this fight, and Ed Norton's the federal spook hot on their trail.
Renner playing a different character keeps the franchise going and it also leaves it open for Matt Damon to return should they come up with a script that draws him back into the franchise. For those not in the know, the reason Matt is not in the new film is because he and director Paul Greengrass (who directed Supremacy & Ultimatum) didn't feel they had a script ready to go and opted out. At least the film still has all the things that I love about the Bourne films (and that has also been duplicated by a few other spy movies). A conflicted killer hero, a global reach, some very grungy hotel rooms and a whole bunch of incredible stunts and chases.
If people are doubting that my husband can pull off being an action star, then I suggest you check out two little films that he made last year that made a shitload of money within the last five months - Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and The Avengers.
The Bourne Legacy opens in theaters on August 3.

Madonna just finished kicking off her MDNA tour in Tel Aviv, and while we in the US have to wait until the fall to see the show, here is your first look at the costumes created by Jean Paul Gaultier, Jeremy Scott, and Arianne Phillips that she will be wearing on stage for the next couple of months. Gaultier's famous cone bra that Madonna wore on the Blonde Ambition tour gets a makeover with a skeleton corset worn over a business suit. Madonna also wears a Joan of Arc-inspired medieval outfit with the neck piece made of Swarovski crystals.
“It’s all about masculine and feminine, Madonna and Jean Paul Gaultier classics reinterpreted for 2012,” says Gaultier himself. “I love Madonna. She is the only woman I have asked to marry me. She refused, of course. But when she asked me to do a costume for her for this tour, I couldn’t refuse.”
Other high-profile designers who contributed looks to Madge’s tour include Prada, Miu Miu, Alexander Wang and Dolce & Gabbana. Pieces from Madonna’s Truth Or Dare lingerie line, including panties with a red heart, are also worn during the show and the pumps (last pic) are from Madonna's upcoming Truth Or Dare shoe line which will be out this fall.

It's been quite sometime since we've heard new music from Ciara, who has been locked away recording her comeback album under the guise of L.A. Reid. The singer, who has a role in Adam Sandler's shitty movie That's My Boy revealed in an interview with MTV that her album will be called One Woman Army and that the first single, titled Sweat will be released to the public in a matter of days.
Here is what songwriter Ali Tamposi had to say in an interview back in March with BMI about working with Ciara on her new record:
“Right now I’m working on a Ciara album, and she’s been great. It’s Livvi Franc and I who are doing most of the writing for it, and it’s been really cool and laid back so that’s been fun. There’s a lot of angst and edge in [Ciara’s] music and we’ve tried to be really conceptual and write things that haven’t been done before and real strong women empowerment songs. This what I’ve been really wanting to do: Focus on one project. So we’ve been doing that the last few weeks now.”
“I really wanted to use, for years, the title “One Woman Army,” and I just used it with Ciara. I had it initially as “One Man Army,” and I changed it and it’s [about] a strong, really independent woman that if you’re going to be a part of her life you have to be strong, a fighter, a solider. It’s a really strong song. We’re working on that right now.”
I've always saw the potential in Ciara, who in my opinion as a performer is the female Chris Brown. She's one of the sickest dancers out there, and even though she doesn't have the best singing voice, I've always thought that since Britney has yet to recover fully from her 2007 mental breakdown and give us a half-decent stage performance, Ciara should be the one to take the crown. As a performer she's up there with J Lo, but I feel what has hurt her and those three flop albums is that the material isn't up to par. Musically I've always thought she should do a mix of pop, dance, futuristic R&B and electro. I kind of see Ciara as a cross between Britney and Aaliyah, and I just hope with One Woman Army that Ciara finally gets the attention and accolades she deserves.
Check out Ciara briefly talking about the album below...

Speaking of Florence + The Machine, the band has released the colorful music video for their latest single Spectrum, which was directed by legendary photographer/video director David LaChapelle. Check out singer Florence Welch in this visual masterpiece below...
Swedish pop singer Agnes, who had a minor hit in America a few years back with Release Me and On and On is back with a new ethereal track called Last Time, which has got my ears drowning in pure ecstasy and has a bit of a Florence + The Machine vibe. The single cover also reminds me a bit of Leona Lewis, who needs to hire Agnes' people who seem to have found a way for Agnes' visual and music to out-Leona Leona.
I love Agnes' voice and can't wait to hear more music from her.
Yesterday after having a Cassie moment with her disasterous live performance of Put Your Graffiti On Me on Ellen, The Vampire Diaries actress Kat Graham has dusted herself off and has returned with a brand new single called Supa Dope, which is on her Against The Wall EP.
I think she's a great dancer and I love her whenever the VD writers find something for her to do on the hit CW series, but I have to admit this track is better suited for her than Put Your Graffiti On Me.
Actor Andrew Rannels, who came upon all our radar when he starred on Broadway in The Book of Mormon and played gay on two episodes of the hit HBO series Girls has officially come out of the closet.
While interviewing for Vulture, the actor talked candidly about his sexuality when discussing his role as Elijah, the gay college ex-boyfriend of Hannah on Girls and his role as Justin Bartha's partner on The New Normal:
I am gay in real life, so I definitely get it. But it’s not my story — I wasn’t closeted for any amount of time. I never had a girlfriend who I had that experience with. It’s less that Elijah knew he was gay and continued to date Hannah anyway and more that he wasn’t ready to admit to himself that he was gay. I think that’s probably the more common thing, particularly with young homosexuals. Coming out can be super super complicated, especially when it comes to families and friends —and if you already have a girlfriend, what does that mean for her? I hope that changes over time, but coming is very personal and everybody obviously has to do it in their own time. So, no, I don’t think he did anything bad.
Vulture follows up the convo by asking Rannells if he feels a special investment in gay characters he plays?
Well, there’s a part of me that would say I treat every character in the same way — to be as honest as possible with every role. But then, as a gay man, I think there’s a responsibility to show a fully realized person, so even though Elijah might not be the the best person in the world, I want to make him as fully fleshed out and human as possible. Because chances are he’s gonna represent somebody who’s a real person. With The New Normal, I feel even a larger responsibility because it’s sort of a new idea for a lot of viewers and Americans, to see Justin Bartha and I play this very much in love couple who just wants to have a baby. We’re telling that story for the first time, in a way, for a lot of people, so I think there’s a lot of responsibility there.
Like Zachary Quinto, Jim Parsons, Matt Bomer, Sean Hayes, Kevin Spacey, Jodie Foster, and Queen Latifah to name a few, you'd have to be pretty slow to not see that Andrew is gay. This may come across as bizarre to some and a little hard to explain, but it's not always in the mannerisms that you can tell. Sometimes people have what I like to call gay face. Gay face is a particular look to you where you look gay. I believe this is the first time I've heard Andrew talk about his sexuality, and there seems to be a trend in actors casually coming out in interviews or on their blogs without calling People for a magazine cover.
I just read Entertainment Weekly when they were interviewing the actors in (upcoming stripper film) Magic Mike and Matt Bomer casually mentioned his partner Simon when the reporter asked them how their significant others felt about them exposing their bits in the movie. I actually like thie new way of coming out, because at the end of the day living your truth should not be a big deal.

The fourth season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (which ended last month) featured a once fun NeNe Leakes coming across as an uptight bitch who was starting to feel herself due to the fact that she has been nabbing plenty of acting roles, most recently on Glee. She especially rubbed me the wrong way this season when she tried to throw shade at Kandi who started a line of vibrators for women and passed judgement at Kandi's birthday party Phaedra got her a male stripper as a present. How quickly we forget we were once a stripper back when we were in our early twenties.
Anyways, after NeNe seemed to be over interacting with the other housewives (except for troublemaaking newcomer Marlo Hampton and co-star Cynthia Bailey) rumors started swirling that Bravo would be transferring her to another one of the Housewives shows so she could focus on her rising acting career in LA.
NeNe is currently filming the fifth season of RHWOA, but since it will be hard for her to shoot a reality show as well as her role on the NBC series The New Normal (as well as a recurring role on Glee), in a rare reality twist she may also pop up on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Personally speaking the ladies over in Beverly Hills could use a little color, and I don't mean from a can of spray tan.
Here's what NeNe had to say on the rumors:
“From what I’ve heard Bravo doesn’t want to do a crossover. I actually will be living in Los Angeles and I’ll still have a place in Georgia. They should do that twist. It would be fun. It would be hilarious to be a Beverly Hills housewife.” – Nene Leakes
I think the crossover would be awesome too, and in my opinion based on the few new reality shows that Andy Cohen has in the works, and shows I could care less about like Pregnant In Heels, Million Dollar Listing (NY & LA), and Around The World In 80 Plates to name a few, NeNe interacting with Kim & Kyle Richards, Lisa Vandepump, Adrienne Maloof and Taylor Armstrong would make for good TV and get viewers that don't normally watch RHWOBH (read: most black folk) to start watching.
As someone who grew up loving out-of-the-box hip hop as diverse as Kid N' Play, Beastie Boys, Queen Latifah, Heavy D and Missy Elliott, to name a few, it has been a long time since I've heard some hip hop that has gotten me excited, especially from a woman.
Harlemite Azealia Banks, who I have become obsessed with since last year after I couldn't stop shaking my ass to "212" is about to embaek on a busy couple of months with the release of her long-awaited EP 1991 and her official studio album in September. She recently released her second single Jumanji which is just as fun, fierce and catchy.
As someone who loves fun and out-of-the-box hip hop mixed with dance, pop and electro, I highly recommend adding Azealia to your iPod. it's been a long time since we've gotten some music that was different than the shit on the radio, and while we wait for Missy to finally release her long-awaited Block Party album, show some love to Azealia and her forward-thinking music.

I have been a fan of Kat Graham since I discovered her casting spells as Bonnie on the hit CW series The Vampire Diaries. While she is a beautiful girl and an amazing dancer, this song and performance was a hot ass mess. That cowbell in the sonhg is sickening, but I don't feel this song fits her, especially since she sounds like she's straining out a shit when she sings, kind of like Shakira when she does her signature goat yodel. My throat started ot hurt listening to her live vocal.
There is no denying that everytime you hear a new Nas record he's not afraid to bring the truth. I cannot wait for his new album, since I have been hungry for some thought-provoking hip hop for a long time. Check out his video for Daughters below...
Five years after releasing the best album of her career, Britney's Blackout album has finally gone platinum. If some of you can remember that far back (since most of us have the attention span of a zit), Britney released Blackout around the time when she had her nervous breakdown and was in no condition to perform or promote. That reality was made apparent when she did that dreadful performance of Gimme More at the VMA's (and the infamous music video where she grinded her used bits on a stripper pole).
Even though she barely promoted the record when it was released, Blackout did enter #2 on the Billboard charts, which I'm sure is due to her hardcore fans purchasing it. But I was shocked to learn that it took almost five years for her to sell one million copies.
I still believe to this day Blackout was her best work, and many of your future pop stars can learn a lot from listening to that record, which I call stripper pop. She began to win a lot of MTV awards when she released her Circus album, but I feel that wasn't her best record. Blackout truly captured the essence of Britney, which was a sexy pop star with inner demons who also loved to fuck. it also gave us the phrase that we would go on using for the rest of Britney's career - It's Britney bitch!

Last week rumors swirled that DC Comics would be following in the footsteps of Marvel (with the recent announcement that they would be releasing an issue of their comic where Northstar will marry his longtime companion) by having one of their superheroes coming out of the closet. Now it has been confirmed that the original Green Lantern Alan Scott is ready to let his flame burn bright.
From Bleeding Cool:
I ran semi-sourced stories indicating that the character who DC Comics announced as being reintroduced to the New 52 DC Universe as a gay man, was Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern, who appeared in Earth 2 #1 briefly,
Well, at Phoenix Comic Con, I had a much stronger source confirm to me that, yes, it is indeed Alan Scott. On that basis I feel confident in calling it. Keep your Earth 2 #1 in good nick, and start queuing up for Earth 2 #2… right about now.
Unless you are a hardcore GL fan you know of Alan, but I'm sure people who aren't familiar with the comic will think if there is a sequel in the works to the flop movie, that Ryan Reynolds (who played Hal Jordan) will go gay.
It has been a pretty busy weekend for Kylie Minogue. While releasing the single and video for her new single Timebomb within 24 hours of each other, and celebrating her 44th birthday yesterday, the Impossible Princess of Pop also found the time to perform her new track on The Voice in the UK. Her second Greatest Hits album titled Best Of will be out next month.
While Lady Gaga has come under fire for Born This Way sounding similar to Madonna's huge hit Express Yourself, the Queen of Pop has been quiet on comments over the song (except for telling Cynthia McFayden that it sounded redictive) until now. While going through the stage rehearsal for the MDNA tour (which kicks off this Thursday in Tel Aviv) leaked video spread through the web like wildfire of Madonna singing a mash-up of Express Yourself and Born This Way before putting the final nail in the coffin by singing her Hard Candy track, She's Not Me.
While I think this is all in good fun on Madonna's part (since she has a twisted sense of humor and knows that taking a jab at Gaga will bring attention to her tour by the media), I can see a Twatter feud surfacing from the Gaga stans and the Madonna stans as I write this.

Parisite Hilton, aka the princess of being famous for no damn reason (Zsa Zsa Gabor is the queen) is all of a sudden a fan of dance music because it's finally crossed mainstream lines in the US has raped the hell out of auto tune to give you a new single Louder, featuring Akon and production from David Guetta. Flo Rida aka the black Pitbull's name was mentioned in previous posts of this song, so I'm guessing they will release this track with his rap added on it. Either way the beat is something to jump around to in the club, but not surprisingly, Paris throws her herp juice all over the song and ruins it. If you think this track is bad, I'm sure her collaboration with LMFAO, which was reported a while back will be even worse. I wish this bitch would have several seats in the biggest staduim she can find and stop making music altogether.
Well this one just creeped up on me because I had no idea Mary was releasing this as a single. The queen of hip hop-soul may be in the middle of some drama in regards of her charity (moreo n that below), but she found the time in between promoting her role in the movie musical Rock of Ages to unleash the video for Don't Mind, one of my fave tracks from her My Life II album.
In other MJB news, the singer responded to a TMZ report alleging that TD Bank had filed suit against Blige and co-founder Steve Stoute over a $250,000 loan that the charity took out in June 2011. Here's what Mary had to say while performing at an event in Beijing for Armani:
“FFAWN has been mismanaged and when I found out about all these issues, I immediately got on the phone with my lawyers and my advisers and tried to fix this so that none of those women would suffer,” said the singer. “My goal is to do exactly what I set out to do. My motives were true and upfront. I set out to empower and encourage women, but it turns out the business part of it was not managed properly.”

It's no secret that I love me some Adam Lambert, especially since his new album is deservedly at #1 and he has vowed to live his truth in the mainstream music world regardless of what people say.
He even entertained the hell out of me alongside Gossip singer Beth Ditto on last Thursday's episode of Watch What Happens Live (which is rare since most of those Housewives guests have about as much personality as a wart on a homeless man's ass). I loved how the convo went from what size nipples they had to Adam's feud with Clay Aiken (something I knew nothing about) to if he thinks being openly gay cost him the Idol win.
Now Glambert has unleashed the second music video from his album Tresspassing called Never Close Our Eyes, and while the vocals are pretty dramatic, and the song is quite catchy, this isn't my favorite track off the album. He truly delivered in this video and it was great to even see him break out into a little choreogrphy. Here's hoping Kicking In, Naked Love and Shady become future singles.

While performing in Atlantic City, Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson stopped in the middle of performing Stupid Girl and proceeded to scold a man in the audience for hitting the woman in front of him. I've always admired how ballsy Shirley has always been and I love the fact that she has never succombed to the pressures of the mainstream music industry on how a woman should be in regards to her sexuality (something we can't say about the current crop of sexually-charged broads out right now who think sexuality is defined by the lack of clothing).
In order to break the audience hostility due to the sudden outburst, Shirley the trooper took a moment to dance on stage with band member Duke Eriksson before they went back into Stupid Girl.
The swan dive was sickening, and there's no denying that the absolutely gorgeous Cheryl Cole puts it down as far as her performance goes. Regardless what people say about her thin vocals she is definitely a star who should be as big as Rihanna. Oh and I know Cheryl all of a sudden wants to go by one name, but you haven't buried enough bones to get that kind of respect. When you've had as many hits as Beyonce (she didn't start going by one name until she released her first solo album) then we'll talk. In the meantime check out her performance of Call My Name below...
