RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE Season 4 Episode 1: RuPOCALYPSE NOW!

So last night was the premiere of RuPaul's Drag Race, and as expected there was plenty of hijinx and camp, with a little shade thrown in for good measure. Oh, and Shangela halleloo'd her way back on the show for a short but sweet little cameo, and Elvira along with Mike Ruiz were the guest judges. For their first challenge, the queens had to snatch a few garments from zombies of season's past to create a Rupocalyptic ensemble for the judges to critique. With all this apocalypse talk, I almost wished the final two queens who had to lip-sync for their lives were performing to Britney Spears' Til The World Ends instead of Toxic.

My favorites so far are Sharon Needles (I love her kind of drag), Milan (who, as a native New Yorker needs to bring it next week), Chad Michaels (Cher has nothing on this queen) and Willam (who's shade towards the other contestants is the ultimate kiki). Phi Phi, although very cute as a boy immediately turned me off with her attitude, especially during Untucked when she deliberately went after Willam, who had a career as an actor before trying out for Drag Race. As for the contestants this season, I would like a little more diversity from them instead of casting directors always picking contestants that remind me of past queens (Kenya reminds me too much of a shorter Alexis Mateo with Yara Sofia's voice, and Alisa is too much like Carmen Carrera/Tatiana). Other than that I'm quite entertained by the new season. i just wish there was a little more diversity on Logo's roster (like Bravo).

JOHNNY WEIR'S HUSBAND TAKING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST INVESTMENT SCAM ACCUSATIONS

While Johnny Weir has every reason to celebrate in regards to his new marriage and return to figure skating, Johnny's husband Victor Voronov is taking legal action against an anonymous person identified as "Tanrioldu" who is claiming that Voronov, now a law-school grad, conned friends into giving him money a few years ago, but made sure not to put anything on paper so that he couldn’t be held accountable.

Victor S. Voronov operated a fraudulent/fake investment company called CIS Capital Holdings from 2007 to 2009. His targets were primarily friends, colleagues, former classmates, roommates, and acquaintances. Using the relationship of trust he had acquired with these people, he would con them into believing that he was running a very successful investment company…


He would also send a fraudulent ‘prospectus’ that detailed the structure of the investment, the type of investments being made, etc. He was very careful not to put any promise of earnings on paper, but would do so at length over the phone or in person. Promises of 25-50% returns in a few months, for example…

Eventually when the investors asked to receive official reports or cash out, they were met with ignored calls and emails and delays. Eventually Mr. Voronov cut off all communication (changed phone numbers, email addresses, blocked users from Facebook, etc.). Many months went by without any response from him regarding the status of the invested money or when the investors could get their money back.

Eventually, one by one, the investors were contacted by phone by Victor Voronov’s father, Anatoly “Tony” Voronov (owner of CIS Ventures, Inc.). Investors were informed that Victor has been admitted to a drug rehabilitation clinic (for addiction to amphetamines) and would not be able to communicate with anyone for 3-6 months. The actual duration of the rehabilitation, according to his father, lasted approximately 9 months at a private drug rehab clinic near Altanta, GA.

After coming under fire from various gay rights groups over her controversial comments in regards to her "choice" of being in a gay relationship, actress Cynthia Nixon has taken the moment to clarify what she said in her recent New York Times article:

"While I don't often use the word, the technically precise term for my orientation is bisexual. I believe bisexuality is not a choice, it is a fact. What I have 'chosen' is to be in a gay relationship.

"As I said in the Times and will say again here, I do, however, believe that most members of our community — as well as the majority of heterosexuals — cannot and do not choose the gender of the persons with whom they seek to have intimate relationships because, unlike me, they are only attracted to one sex.

"Our community is not a monolith, thank goodness, any more than America itself is. I look forward to and will continue to work toward the day when America recognizes all of us as full and equal citizens."

I would say that's a poor ass excuse to say that she wants to focus on her non-existant music career, because look at J.Lo. Then I remembered La Lopez does more of a stage appearance here and there than a proper tour, so comparing a mediocre stage performer to a bland personality-challenged pretty face who can actually sing is like comparing apples to oranges. So with Steve Jones gone as host and Nicole gone as judge, I've said it before and I will say it again. Choose Mariah Carey, Patti LaBelle or rehire Cheryl Cole as a replacement judge, and hire yours truly as the new X Factor judge and you'll beat American Idol in the ratings.

On performing with Madonna and Nicki Minaj at Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis: “Yes, I’m going to the Super Bowl. Actually I’ve never been to the Super Bowl, so it’s my first time. I’m going to be performing with Madonna and Nicki Minaj. If you’re gonna go to the Super Bowl, you might as well go there with America’s biggest female icons.”



On collaborating with pop royalty: “She is the original. If you’re gonna support someone, that’s a pretty dope achievement. I’m sure my mum is gonna be way [more] into that than me putting ‘Galang’ out.”


On why she wanted to work with Madge: “As musicians, we’re two women and we represent two opposite sides of the world. If we can come together on a piece of music or something like the Super Bowl, I feel like that’s actually a cool thing to see this year because it’s getting silly out there.”


On her as-yet-untitled fourth album: “I want it to be a summer thing ’cause it’s a summer record. As soon as I finish the Super Bowl, I’ve gotta do another couple of weeks with European producers.”

CIARA WORKING WITH BANGLADESH & LMFAO'S PRODUCERS ON NEW ALBUM

Ciara is back on her grind and ready to snatch some well-deserved wigs. Word on the street is that the pop singer, who has struggled to match the success of her debut album Goodies is working with producers Bangladesh and Goon Rock, Josh Stephens and Dre Koon (LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem) on her new album.

She's going after the international dance audience by working with MLFAO's producers(since I've pegged her as the female Chris Brown in regards to their dance skills) and if Bangladesh can give Ciara a hit in the vein of Rihanna's Cockiness (Love It), I'm all in.

TRAILER TRASH: STEP UP 4

Here is your first look at the trailer for Step Up 4, which is pretty much what you'd espect from these movies: A weak plot with excellent choreography.

The film follows Emily (So You Think You Can Dance alum Kathryn McCormick), the daughter of a wealthy businessman, who arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer, but soon falls in love with Sean (Ryan Guzman), a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs. My boy Moose isn't in this one (he basically raised the cool factor on the second and third flicks) so I'll be waiting for this to show up on cable.

A BITTER OLD QUEEN IS STILL RANTING ABOUT MADONNA

Am I the only one who thinks it's about time someone give Elton John a mean laxative? Since no one is giving that tired old queen any attention, the good folks at GMA felt the need to interview him about his upcoming Super Bowl commercial with X Facter U.S. winner Melanie Amaro and, knowing how he felt after Madonna won a Golden Globe for Best Song, reporter Chris Connelly asked the royal cunt if he had any advice for Madonna (like she needs it) for her upcoming performance. Remember, Madonna was out fighting for gay rights when it wasn't cool and the "in" thing to jump on  (like Lady Gaga) and before Elton John came out fully as a gay man. I can't take someone seriously who takes money to sing at Rush Limbaugh's last wedding knowing full well how he treats anyone that isn't an angry white fascist like him. Then again, I think I just explained Elton John in the following video.

Oh, and last time I checked, Madonna doesn't lip-sync. She uses effects on her vocals when she sings live.

Sorry to say, but the Rihanna version is much better. if you wanted a rapper to really pull this off, someone like Verbal Science rapping and me doing the chorus would have been much believable. Especially since I don't spit.
