I remember hearing a while back this film was going to get made, but when I saw the official trailer had made it online, I had no idea this movie was actually done filming. Check out the trailer for the upcoming film After Earth below, starring Will Smith and his son Jayden Smith. This is the first time the two have worked together since the movie Pursuit of Happyness.

A crash landing leaves teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his legendary father Cypher (Will Smith) stranded on Earth, 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home.
After Earth will be in theaters on June 7, 2013.
Since this is M. Night Shyamalan's next film project, I'm really hoping this will be his comeback film of sorts, since in my opinion he hasn't made a good movie since Unbreakable. And please no twist endings. It worked good for The Sixth Sense but then every movie you've done since has tried to duplicate the success of your breakout movie.
