Earlier this week I brought you your first look of the official poster for Star Trek Into Darkness. Today I bring you a first look at the teaser trailer for the film, which stars John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller, and will hit theaters on May 17, 2013.
Below is a synpopsis of the film:
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
I grew up on Star Trek because my dad was a big fan of the series, so I will admit that I didn't really like JJ Abrams' (who wrote and directed the sequel) vision of the reboot, but I will check this film out to see if it will have some of the old Star trek logic-isms crossed with some high intense action. I will say that I applaud JJ for giving us a fresh take on the franchise, and Into Darkness does have more action than the first film and it's much darker (hense the name). I did hear that a full trailer will be shown during the Coming Attractions of The Hobbit, so I will keep you all posted as that story develops.
