Manu Bennett, who plays Crixus on the STARZ series Spartacus (and the upcoming Spartacus: War of the Damned) has been cast to play Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke on the hit CW series Arrow. According to EW he will appear in several episodes of the CW series and is expected to appear in the 'back half' episodes next year.
Deathstroke was originally played by Jeffrey Robinson, but being that he only appeared in a flashback sequence wit his mask on - he gave Oliver Queen his body scars) it doesn't really make a difference who played him before. I guess with Manu being cast on the show they needed someone who could be menacing and stand up to Arrow in and out of his mask. I actually loved Manu on Spartacus and I'm looking forward to seeing him more now that STARZ unfortunately canceled Spartacus. Also anyone who bangs Xena and lives to tell the tale gets points in my book.
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.
The show airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
