He may have survived insulting Taylor Swift at the VMA's, the death of his mother, and a panned fashion line, but Kanye's achilles heel may be his relationship with Kim.
According to the New York Daily News, with Kanye making too many appearances on his girlfriends' show Keeping up With The Kardashians, and more face time in your weekly tabloid than in your highly respected music and fashion magazines like VMAN, Vibe and GQ, his career is suffering in the process.
“His personal life is overpowering his music,” an industry source says. “Every time he plays, people are wondering if Kim is going to be there. It’s not a good thing for him, especially if he wants to be taken seriously.”
Kardashian is also putting an effect on Kanye's wallet. Kanye was offered several opportunities to host New Year’s Eve parties in Vegas and Miami — but only if he would bring Kardashian. According to a source, West was offended by the offers and declined.
The source also says that Kanye tried to put his foot down in the beginning of their relationship in regards to being a part of her show, but she started whining and he gave in.
What's also worse is that word on the street is that when he got on stage to perform at the Dec. 12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert at Madison Square Garden, a lot of the audience walked out and took a bathroom break. He was also panned for wearing a kilt on stage
“Literally half the audience got up to go to the bathroom and it was the talk of the men’s room,” one attendee told Confidenti@l’s Marianne Garvey.
There's also word that Kanye is aware of his dwindling popularity and is looking to refigure his brand.
“He has been meeting with top-level music executives seeking advice,” says the source. “He’s not happy with the direction things have been going.”
Two fame whores having a spat? This is news how? Everybody knows that Kim's snatch has been used and abused by so many men, it comes with it's own gypsy curse. Any man that brushed the head of their dick past it winds up with a dwindling career. Anyone hear any good things about Reggie Bush? Ray J? How about Kris Humphries? Kim may be the queen of whoring herself out for money, but one thing she has never been able to do is get anyone to take herself seriously. If Kanye wants to be taken seriously as an artist and a fashion plate, he needs to learn how to find his identity again a part from Kim's infamous brand. Otherwise his music and whatever career opportunities he plans to seek for himself may continue to hurt him and his pockets in the future.
