GENERAL HOSPITAL JUMPS THE SHARK WITH FIRST GAY CHARACTER

Since General Hospital is the last soap standing over at ABC and has emptied out the Port Charles Cemetery by bringing just about every character back from the dead, when the show isn't busy acting like The Sonny Corinthos Show, GH is really grasping at straws by introducing their first gay character in daytime. While we always welcome anytime we get some gays on a daytime soap, the writers played themselves by having everyone realize he was gay by having him stereotypically pull out a tube of lipstick and touch up a female character, because in between catering to the sick as a nurse we always have time to make straight women look good. It would have been much easier to wait until February sweeps and introduce him to the show by having him kiss another man.

Bad enough there are barely any black people on GH (or on TV in general), they had to go even further and make the new character a swishy gay black stereotype. I wouldn't be surprised if they use some story of Jason Morgan winding up at some hotspot full of drag queens and the new character is one of the head queens keeping him hog tied like the dude from Misery.

Also, if the head writer is in fact gay, why the hell would you greenlight this? I'm really starting to get quite agitated by these behind-the-scenes self-hating queens endoursing gay stereotypes on TV and treating gay men like sassy accessories to straight women (that includes you too Andy Cohen over at Bravo).

If you are as irritated as I am about this, send your complaints to the following:
