Attention all Beyoncé stans: Here is your first look at her autobiographical documentary, which will be premiering on HBO February 16, 2013 (just in time for Black History Month).
Since we all know Bey has left most of her career decisions in the hands of her father and her army of minions, the singer also wants people to believe that Solange isn't the sister who actually has creative ideas (listen to Solange's music to see what I mean), so Bey has stepped up to the directors chair to direct the documentary herself.
It basically means she hired a bunch of camera men to follow her around all day, and when it was time to edit everything together she sat in the room and made the final decisions as to what she will allow viewers to see in regards to her making music, performing on stage, rehearsing, and being a mother and wife to Blue Ivy and Jay Z.
I think Beyoncé is a great performer, but what has always put me off from her is that she comes across as too guarded and always worrying about what people think of her. In the public eye you will always have people throwing shade at whatever decision you make, so I say fuck what people say and "do you." At the end of the day you are the one who has to live with whatever decision you make not the person sitting at their computer hating.
