CHANNING TATUM TO TAKE A BREAK FROM ACTING

After releasing four movies this year (three of them - 21 Jump Street, The Vow, and Magic Mike all grossed over $100 million), Channing Tatum has revealed that he plans to take a break from acting in 2013.

The actor, who was also just named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive says that he is not quitting the profession that has made him a shitload of money this year, but wants to take some time off to write a screenplay for a film that he and Magic Mike co-writer Reid Carolin will direct.

Here's what Tatum told Entertainment Weekly: “[Reid and I] have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we’re going to shut things down and write the first thing that we’re going to direct.”

Tatum continued, “We’re going to be like, alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let’s take a few and really get caring about that section of our career.”

If the ladies (and some of you gentlemen) are upset over the fact that you won't get to see Channing on the big screen, fear not because he has a bunch of movies coming out next year that will keep you Tatumfied until he's ready to hit you all with his stiff acting.
An Evel Knievel biopic, Steven Soderbergh’s Side Effects, Bennett Miller’s Foxcatcher, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and the action film White House Down are all set to come out in 2013.

Channing also talked to EW about wanting to step in the director's chair: “I love the steps that I’ve taken acting-wise. That has been a wild sort of exploration, but I don’t want to just keep putting [directing] off for these fun and incredible opportunities.”

Maybe if Channing takes a break Ryan Gosling can finally get the Sexiest Man Alive cover?
