Out actor John Barrowman, who has kissed plenty of hot guys as Captain Jack Harkness on the Dr. Who spinoff Torchwood and is currently on Arrow as the villain Malcolm Merlyn recently sat down with TV Guide to talk about his role on the show, but things got really interesting when he he revealed which male cast mate on Arrow he would love to make out with.
In his interview, he describes his character as a ‘troubled hero’ whose methods in attempting to clean up the city clash with those of the show’s hero.
As for the love scenes on the show, he says he wishes he could get some man-on-man love like his co-stars, especially if he could get to smooch Stephen Amell.
‘I don’t think we ever will!’ he says of a same-sex love scene. ‘Although I would love to make out with Stephen Amell, I don’t think these two are gonna bed down. I always ask him if I can play some xylophone on his abs (Laughs).’
When the interviewer remarks that Barrowman ‘doesn’t hold back,’ the actor says: ‘I am what I am, and I don’t hide it. If anybody asked me to change, I would tell them to f— off.’
Get in line John. What I love about John is that he says it like he means it and doesn't give a fuck what anyone says. Hell I wouldn't mind making out with John either. I miss Torchwood and wish they would bring it back, but at least John is working on another show that I like. I didn't know much about his personal life until I saw him pop up on an episode of Chris Hardwick's show The Nerdist (where he pulled down his pants to reveal his Iron Man underwear) and he co-hosted San Diego Comic Con on G4 as well as a few hosting spots on the just-canceled Attack of the Show. Everytime I watch him as a personality he's engaging and hilarious with his antics and he comes across like he'd be a great guy to hang out with at the bar for a few drinks. I wish there were more male actors who were gay like John that didn't take themselves too seriously and learned to have a little fun because we all know life doesn't last forever.
