WES CRAVEN TALKS SCREAM 5

Even though Scream 4 didn't do too well at the box office (only grossing $97 million back in 2011), fans are still wondering will there be a fifth film coming out in the near future.

When Wes Craven was asked on Twitter whether or not Scream 5 will indeed happen, the director took to the social networking site to finally adress the question:  "No news on Scream 5 yet. You guys really want another one?"

I actually liked Scream 4 and I am a huge fan of the franchise (although I was pretty disappointed in Scream 3). I particularly loved the message it was trying to get across in regards to people doing anything to get their 15 minutes of fame, but I felt the reason why it didn't do well was because of the time it was released. I never understand why Hollywood insists on releasing horror films in the spring and summertime, when those periods should be used to release popcorn films like The Avengers and Transformers. Horror always does well in the fall, when we're close to Halloween so if they would have released Scream around that time I think it would have had a chance at the box office. As for the rumored TV spin-off at MTV, there's no word if the network has officially given the green light, but I say if it indeed becomes a series, they need to do it like American Horror Story and have a new storyline and new cast every season.
