TRUE BLOOD ACTRESS TO MAKE MULTI-EPISODE APPEARANCE ON ARROW
So far there have been a lot of shows that aired on network TV this fall that have not been living up to the hype. Two shows so far I can't get enough of - one show is Revolution on NBC, and the other is Arrow. At first I was upset when I heard they were changing the Oliver Queen/Green Arrow from Smallville into another actor, but Stephen Amell has definitely changed my mind on the cast change. Now only is he gorgeous to look at, but his body is seriously a sculpted work of art. Oh - and his acting is not bad either.
I also love the fact that the show has taken some inspiration from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and has injected some realism into the superheroverse, and now I have some awesome casting news. Word on the street is that someone from the hit HBO series True Blood is set to make an appearance in Starling City.
Actress Janina Gavankar, who plays Sam Merlotte's shape-shifting girlfriend (and also played Papi on The L Word) is set to appear in a multi-episode arc as a tough and sexy vice cop named McKenna Hall, who has a complicated history with Oliver. Kavankar's character pops up after a new street drug called Vertigo hits the streets. This could leave it open for McKenna to have a recurring part on the show and may leave it open for McKenna and Oliver to rekindle what they once had. I'm loving where the show is going and hope it lasts as long as Smallville on TV (Smallville lasted 10 seasons, BTW). In fact, I wish The CW would get rid of all those stupid girly shows no one is watching like 90210, Emily Owens, M.D. and Beauty and the Beast, and get into more adult fare like Supernatural, Nikita, Arrow, and The Vampire Diaries. Leave the teen shows to TeenNick and ABC Family because it's time for the network to grow up because clearly if you look at their line up The CW is having an identity crisis.
