Before The Amazing Spider Man came out this past summer, many fans groaned that it was too soon for Hollywood to reboot a franchise that was doing pretty well financially with Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider Man and Sam Raimi as the director.
Many people had to eat crow when it made a shitload of money, and now that the reboot has been successful it should be a no-brainer that a sequel is on the way. Now Variety as well as several other sites are reporting that Jamie Foxx is in talks to play the villain Electro in the next Spider Man movie.
Jamie, who's next film is the Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained added fuel to the fire when he tweeted that he was dressed as Electro for Halloween.

I would actually love to see Jamie play a villain in a Marvel movie, since in my opinion there really isn't enough black superheroes on the big screen. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Samuel L. Jackson in The Avengers movies and possibly Anthony Mackie in Captain America 2. If Wesley Snipes can hurry up and finish doing his time behind bars maybe we can finally get another Blade movie (it's been almost eight years since Blade: Trinity), so I've got my fingers crossed about Jamie getting a high-profile role in a high-profile movie.
