PASTOR TYLER PERRY BEGINS PRODUCTION ON SINGLE MOM'S CLUB

Since moviegoers only want to support Pastor Tyler Perry (I call him pastor because his movies are always preaching to somebody like a 12-hour Sunday sermon) when he's dressed as Madea, the actor/director/Jack-of-all-trades has wisely put that ratchet Alex Cross movie behind him and has gone back to making movies for the female demographic.

Perry, who has a distribution deal with Lionsgate announced that yesterday began filming on his latest project Single Mom's Club. The film, which is of course written and directed by Tyler Perry, is being filmed at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Perry will also star in the film alongside Nia Long, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Amy Smart, Zulay Henao, Cocoa Brown, Ryan Eggold, William Levy, Terry Crews and Eddie Cibrian.

Below is a synposis for the film:

Brought together by an incident at their children’s school, a group of single mothers from different walks of life bond, and create a support group that helps them find comedy in the obstacles of life, as well as their inner strength to overcome their personal challenges.

Single Mom's Club is slated to be released theatrically on May 9, 2014.
