NICKI GARBAJ IN ANOTHER TWITTER FIGHT WITH FORMER AI JUDGE
Now that the lukewarm fight between American Idol judges Mariah Carey and Trashi Garbaj has turned to dust, it looks like to generate some new buzz for a show that I have felt for years is on it's last legs is looking to add fuel via another Twitter fight. This time, instead of Nicki and Mimi threatening to snatch each other's wigs, the beef is between Nicki and former AI judge Steven Tyler.
The drama all started when Steven sat down for an interview with MTV News and was asked his thoughts on the current judges who have replaced him and Jennifer Lopez.
They should have something going on, which is called ‘camaraderie.’ They should have something going on so thick and beautiful that they can lay it over the new talent that’s trying to birth itself. It needs to be birthed, not judged by ‘entertainment’ factors, it needs to be judged by people that [are] honest, true, that have the ‘it’ factor. Not the ‘it’ factor because they can fight. The f-ck is that all about?
These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they’re in New York City, they’re scared to death; you’re not going to get the best [out of them]. … If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying.
Nicki heard what Steven said (most likely from some bored intern she has working for her who keeps track of everytime someone says anything about her) and fired off a series of nasty tweets:
Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield??? Steven, you haven’t seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet! I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven’t done anything to you. That’s a racist comment. You assume that I wouldn’t have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f–k yourself and worry about yourself babe.
LOL lets make him a shirt that says “No Coloreds Allowed” then escort him down 2 Barbara Walters so he can tell how he was threatened w/gun. When Steven 1st went on Idol he was ridiculed by his peers & fans alike. Called a sell out. So what does he do? Ridicule the next judge.
What Steven is saying is that someone like a Nicki Minaj wouldn't know talent if it came in the form of a glittered pink dildo, because she's all about making money, hustling hard and being a product - not putting out good music because let's keep it real people are tired of this Pink Friday bullshit. I didn't get racist from Steven at all in his comment. I got that the new judges (except for Keith Urban who looks like he'll be hiding in the background this season) like Mariah and Nicki will be more interested in fighting for more screen attention than giving constructive criticism that will help them make it in this dying music industry.
As for her remarks about Steven, I didn't think it was a big secret that people in the rock world (mainly his band Aerosmith - who he was in a rocky relationship with - I saw the 60 Minutes interview) looked at him as a sell-out because he went on a cheesy show like American Idol. So she's not saying anything we don't already know - unless she's telling it to the 10 people who don't pay attention to celebrity news.
I just wish that celebrities would learn to keep their opinions to themselves. While I do love all the drama for the sake of being a celebrity blogger, where the fuck are the PR people in all of this? Nicki once again has not yet learned to ignore anyone who has an opinion about her that isn't kissing her ass slide. I don't think Steven was being racist in his comments, and I'm sick of her pulling the race card everytime someone disrespects her. She pulled the race card when Barbara Walters didn't call her immediately after the American Idol feud footage between she and Mariah Carey leaked, and now she's pulling it again because Steven used "Bob Dylan" and "cornfield" in the same sentence. Bitch if Barbara knows Mimi for over 20 years, and you've only been famous for five, why the fuck should I call you? You've already been on The View - all you had to do is if you wanted your side of the story to be told you could have had one of your overpaid assistants call up the studio and have a View intern patch you through to Baba Wawa. Instead you wanted to bitch about it on your horrible ass E! reality show.
What I got from that is Steven's reference to his belief that Bob (who sings folk music) was born in some small town on a farm. If he had said "cotton field" and referenced a black artist, then you could cry racism. All these Twitter rants are doing is making Nicki look crazier than she already is.Besides, you can't be a racist when you were the first rock group to work with a legendary hip hop group on one of your biggest 80's singles (Walk This Way).
I wish that celebs would stop taking their drama to Twitter where you feel you need to have your die-hard fans come at the person you are fighting with so that they can threaten their life. Like Chris Brown, someone needs to delete this dumb bitches' Twitter account.
