Producers may have cleaned house on her boring Basketball Wives: LA spin-off, but it looks like VH1 may have some new drama brewing with the original cast. According to TMZ, the ladies of Basketball Wives want a pay raise to act like a bafoon on TV or they plan to walk!
The ladies started filming Basketball Wives season 5 last week, and sources are claiming that Shaunie O'Neal, Evelyn Lozada, Tami Roman and Suzie Ketcham do NOT have locked contracts.
The ladies are currently renegotiating their contracts and they all want some of that Jersey Shore/NeNe Leakes money, claiming VH1 makes a shitload of money off of them so they can afford to pay up.
But VH1 execs are refusing to give into their demands, and before filming even began execs made it perfectly clear that salary increases would not happen and if any cast member had a problem with that ... they could easily be replaced.
If an agreement cannot be met by next week, the ladies plan to walk off the reality assembly line if VH1 can't agree to their terms.
What I don't get is that if Shaunie is a producer of both franchises how is it she has no power when it comes to negotiating with VH1 - be it financially or conceptually? They should have had their money situations worked out before they even thought about shooting once scene, but of course we're looking at a bunch of donkies who are more interested in becoming infamous than realizing how show business really works. These ladies also don't bring it like the ladies of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, so I don't see why they have to get a raise for acting like a bunch of ghetto groupies?
