KELLY ROWLAND RECRUITS JIMMY JAM & TERRY LEWIS FOR NEW ALBUM

After boring us to death with her latest single and music video for Ice, singer Kelly Rowland has revealed that she is collaborating with legendary producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis on her fourth album Year of the Woman.

“I think it’s the most vulnerable I’ve been on a record,” a beaming Kelly told Billboard about the follow-up to Here I Am. “I wanted to definitely touch a woman’s hand and talk to her. One of the things that I wanted to really pronounce on this album was a celebration of a woman.”

Here is what she also had to say about working with Jimmy and Terry: “They are a part of the foundation of who I am as well,” she said. “Their sound was one of the first things I remember about R&B and one of the things that I craved for the rest of my life. Being in the studio with them, I had to pinch myself.”

I can understand Jimmy Jam and Terry jumping on bopard, since Janet isn't making any new music and they could probably use a check, but at this point I'm done with Kelly. The donkey is still trying to release an R&B album when her last three records were major flops. Instead of going for the international dance market and becoming the new generation's Donna Summer, she continues to release music for the urban market that barely supported her first three albums in the first place. As soon as When Love Takes Over and Commander became global hits, you would think she would have gotten the hint then, but whoever is advising her to stick with R&B needs to be slapped immediately!
Year of the Woman will be out in early 2013 and you can catch her performing live for VH1 Divas next month.
