I have to officially give my props to Shaunie O' Neal because it took her three seasons to finally get the casting right for Basketball Wives: LA. A few weeks ago Shaunie cleaned house and fired all of the castmembers of the low-rated spin-off except for Draya Michelle and Jackie Christie, but now comes word that Shaunie has hired none other than Karrine Steffans aka Superhead to stir up trouble on the show's third season.
For those of you who may not know much about Karrine and how she got her "superhead" moniker, let me put you on to a little history. Karrine is best known as a former music video vixen who's claim to fame is blowing the whistle of and on some of hip hop's biggest rappers, such as R. Kelly, Lil Wayne, Ja Rule and LL Cool J to name a few. She released two New York Times best-selling books detailing her escapades and was also in a long-term relationship with Darius McCrary (Eddie Winslow from Family Matters).
According to reports, Karrine only signed on if VH1 were willing to come at her with the right amount of money and the promise that she can use her platform on the show promote her next book
I should point out that this story is from Mediatakeout.com, so anything that comes from that irelevant site has to be taken with a grain of salt. I have to say this current season of BBWLA is a hot ass boring mess and the fights and arguments feel empty and poorly staged. All the chicks they hired on the show are ghetto as hell, and don't even have the sexy sophistication or elegant shade the ladies of Atlanta Housewives give us over at Bravo. So if this story is indeed true then it would be interesting to see two slores like Karrine and Draya go at it on camera, because if Karrine can't save this show then it may be time for Shaunie to finally put this ratchet franchise out of it's misery.
