Now that Jersey Shore will be coming to an official end in a matter of weeks, it looks as if some of the cast members have found a way to extend their 15 minutes of fame. The second season of Snooki & JWOWW premieres in January, 2013, Pauly D has his DJ career as well as an endoursement deal with 50 Cent for some headphones, and his own liquor line. Meanwhile the rest of the cast are scrambling to find some other way to remain in the spotlight before their light finally dims and they file for unemployment.
Now comes word that the sanest castmember Vinny Guadagnino has just been given his own talk show. According to MTV (who will air the show), the series, which is being called “The Show With Vinny,” will be both a talk/reality show where he will interview celebrities from his mother's house in Staten Island. The reality aspect of the show will feature his family, who have made numerous appearances on Jersey Shoore during it's six season run. While I'm not sure Vinny can pull off being a talk show host, I can definitely see why Jersey Shore creator SallyAnn Salsano would come up with the idea of giving Vinny his own talk show. Throughout the series run he has always been the Dr. Phil of the house, giving common sense advice to his less-than-brilliant roommates, so in a way it's kind of fitting that he would have the gift of gab in other ways.
I understand Jersey Shore has been the big bread winner over at MTV for the past six seasons, and so far the JS spin-offs have been less-than-stellar. So I'm really hoping the second season of Snooki & JWOWW will be somewhat more interesting than the first one and if Pauly D's show gets a second season he's going to need to find him some interesting and far more attractive friends because The Pauly D Project was unwatchable.
P.S. Somewhere on the east coast Mike, Ronnie, Sammi and Deena are pissed that no one gives a shit about them enouigh to give them something productive to do.
