BJORK REVEALS SHE HAD SUCCESSFUL THROAT SURGERY

I cannot gush over the fact that Bjork has and always will be one of my musical and visual inspirations. While the songs of Biophilia doesn't have the memorable pizazz of some of my favorite albums, like Vespertine, Post, Medulla and Homogenic, I do admire her for finding a scientific way for fans to interact with the music of Biohpilia through modern technology. Earlier this year she disappointed fans in Argentina, Brazil, Spain and Portugal when she had to cancel tour dates to support her new album. She didn't reveal the reason why she canceled until now. She had to undergo laser surgery on her vocals to remove polyps. Here is what she told fans:

"few years ago doctors found a vocal polyp on me chords ... i decided to go the natural way and for 4 years did stretches and tackled it with different foods and what not . then they discovered better technology and i got tempted into hi tech lazer stuff and i have to say , in my case anyway : surgery rocks ! i stayed quiet for 3 weeks and then started singing and definitely feel like my chords are as good as pre nodule ! it´s been very satisfying to sing all them clear notes again . im sorry i had to cancel stuff earlier in the year , didnt want to talk about this until i knew for sure if it would work . so looking forward to singing for you in 2013 all the warmth ,björk."


Glad that she's doing better and as someone who has not seen Bjork in concert yet, she is definitely someone I would like to see (along with Grace Jones) before I leave this earth.
