It looks like all those rumors that the American Idol producers were desperately trying to keep on the hush in regards to a feud between Mariah Carey and Nicki Garbaj are becoming too big to contain, because their dislike for each other seems to be getting worse.
The tension between the two came from a small boil to a huge explosion after the two had a disagreement over an audition in Charlotte, North Carolina.
According to TMZ the tension between Mariah and Nicki got so bad that Nicki threatened to "knock her the f**k out!"
What's even worse (for AI spin doctors but not us bloggers) is that it was caught on tape!
In the video below, Minaj can be heard saying, “I told them, I’m not f**king with her f**kin’ highness over there.”
After Nicki's outburst, producers decided to shut down production for the rest of the day.
After the story broke, Carey had a Nancy Karrigan moment by tweeting, “whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.”
A rep for Fox and Garbaj refused to comment on the latest drama at hand. I'm sure the Barbz and the Lambs are probably taking their litthe beef all over Twitter, but you know I feel that this all boils down to the fact that a 20+ veteran in the music business like Mariah feels she should not have to share a stage with someone who was put their out of sheer popularity. Nicki does not have experience critiquing people on their singing ability or stage performance, especially since she is a horrible performer (check out her AI performance of Starships to see what I mean). Most of the kids who audition for AI have always looked to Mariah as the quintessential singer that they want to emulate. No child is aspiring to look like a cross between a Harajuku clown and Funky Dineva after their third stroke. On the other hand Mariah is notorious for being difficult on stage and acting like the ultimate diva (not the good kind). All you have to do is head to Youtube to see her MTV Cribs episode, the TRL meltdown, and her tragic but hilarious HSN episode during her pregnancy to know exactly what I mean.
At this point AI producers need to take a page out of the X-Factor season 1 handbook and give Nicki her walking papers faster than you can say Cheryl Cole. Otherwise, they will make my wish come true to make this the final season AI exists on TV.
