Over the summer TV personality Star Jones had said in an interview that she believes that Anderson Cooper's coming out party was due to the fact that his Anderson talk show was tanking in the ratings and he's using it as a way to boost viewership.
So this afternoon during a segment with guest co-host and good friend Andy Cohen, Cooper revealed hos upset he was about Star's ridiculous allegations. Cohen asked Cooper if anything has changed since coming out publicly, and he replied by saying:
“I will say, and I actually haven’t mentioned this, the only thing that did kind of annoy me—and actually it annoyed my mom, who brought it up to me—[was] Star Jones of all people. I haven’t thought about Star Jones in I don’t know how long. I was unaware she was even on TV still … but she apparently shows up on a morning show. Out of the blue Star Jones … said this was a ratings ploy by me to boost ratings. If I was wanting to boost ratings, I would have waited to announce it on ‘A Very Special Episode’ that would have been promo’d for weeks and weeks and there would have been commercials [for] ‘Anderson’s Huge Announcement!”
For those who don't remember, Cooper sent an email to journalist Andrew Sullivan about the current issues in American involving LGBT rights, to which his sexuality was disclosed in the letter. Cooper gave Sullivan permission to print the letter for the public to read. What baffles me about this whole ordeal is this chick is all mouth when it comes to saying shit about other people, but when Anderson invited her on the show to discuss her comments, she turned down the offer. Star may me 10 many things, but turning down a chance to get publicity for herself is a new one.
On another note I have noticed that ever since Anderson came out publicly (because trust, he was out to everyone in the industry) he has been more engaging, funny and relaxed on the show.
