LOGO PICKS UP NEW DARRYL STEPHENS GAY SERIES DTLA

Last summer a trailer for a new series called DTLA (Down Town LA) premiered online, starring Darryl Stephens (Noah's Arc) Danny Roberts (The Real World) and Tiffany Pollard (I Love New York). I was excited to check out the series and couldn't wait to check it out. Then all we began to hear is crickets until now. Now comes word that the series, which was created by Larry Kennar (The L Word) has secured distribution rights with LOGO and will now air the series on their network. The series features appearances by Sandra Bernhard, Melanie Griffith, Leslie Jordan, B. Scott and Jeremy Jackson aka Hobie from Baywatch.

While I am happy that DTLA has a home, I am a bit worried about it surviving on LOGO, especially after the stunt they pulled with prematurely canceling Noah's Arc. I know I give the channel shit for it's vapid, one-sided portrayal of gay men, but since there is a lack of original gay storytelling on TV, I will most definitely be supporting this show. I just hope they don't shy away from the language and sex scenes.

DTLA premieres on Wednesday, October 24th at 11 PM on LOGO. Check out a new extended trailer below...
