Here is your first look at Michael Douglas and Matt Damon in the upcoming Liberace biopic called Behind The Candelabra for HBO. Michael Douglas plays the iconic flamboyant pianist and Damon, who is giving legs for days plays his “live-in” chauffeur/undercover boyfriend Scott Thorsen. The movie is based on Thorsten's memoir, which tells of their secret life together up until when Liberace passed away from AIDS-related complications in 1987. Thorsten sued Liberace for palimony in 1982 and used the money to write the book. I didn't know too much about Liberace growing up, and any film that shows a historical time of gay men pushing the boundaries in music I'm always curious to check out. Now can someone turn the book The Fabulous Sylvester into a movie?
