Congratulations are most definitely in order for singer Dawn Richard. After leaving the children gagging with her excellent #1 iTunes EP Armor On earlier this year, and with the anticipation of her solo debut Goldenheart, the former Danity Kane/Dirty Money diva has just inked a distribution deal with Altavoz Distribution. The deal will allow fans to get their hands on her debut album in stores across the globe. Which means when her album comes out you can get it at your nearest Target, Best Buy or even your local mom & pop record shop. It also means that Altavoz will handle all the promotion for the album, and being that Dawn is independent 90% of the album's sales will go directly in Dawn's pocket. So if you support the record when it comes out the money she makes back can be used to give fans a great live show and allow the singer to create visual masterpieces like her video for Wild N' Faith (which you can watch below)
No one is more proud of Dawn than yours truly, who has been bringing it both musically and visually with her fashions, music videos, and choreography. While there are certain mainstream pop divas who feel the need to release a new album every three weeks or hire an army of puppeteers to come up with their musical and visual concepts, Dawn is showing all the future singers out there that if you have a vision and you do not want to compromise your creativity at the hands of a major label, if you work hard enough you don't need them to get your music out there.
Dawn's album was supposed to come out tomorrow, but since she just inked this awesome distribution deal the album has been pushed back until most likely early 2013.
