BEYONCE NO LONGER ATTACHED TO A STAR IS BORN REMAKE
It looks like the remake to A Star Is Born has hit yet another snag, because word on the street is that singer Beyonce has exited the film due to scheduling conflicts. The movie was previously delayed due to the fact that Bey got pregnant with her daughter Blue Ivy, and now that director Clint Eastwood is set to get the movie off the ground, Bey says she had to leave the film because the schedule interferes with upcoming projects.
“I was looking forward to the production of A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood,” Beyonce said. “For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together.”
Actors rumored to star opposite Beyonce were Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Christian Bale, and Bradley Cooper, but neither committed to the role. Maybe they were smart to realize that these seasoned male actors were not willing to act opposite someone who has the personality of a shy four-year-old. There's also word that Clint is looking at jazz singer Esparanza Spalding to replace Beyonce, but I know it can be a bit of typecasting when it comes to singers always doing movies with singing in it, but I think Jennifer Hudson would be a better choice. Screenwriter Will Fetters recently revealed to Collider that his script for the remake (which starred Judy Garland and James Mason) was heavily inspired by Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, so I'm guessing whoever gets the female lead is really going to have to dig deep and bring it as an actress.
