TUNE INTO NEW GAY SCRIPTED SERIES DTLA
It's been quite sometime since we've been starving for a new gay-themed scripted series (the last one being Noah's Arc, which, after two seasons was shockingly canceled by Logo after giving the network some of it's biggest ratings), and now the wait may be over with the upcoming premiere of DTLA.
Last week I reported that after sitting in limbo for over a year the series was finally picked up by Logo and Canadian channel OUTtv, which stars Noah's Arc star Darryl Stephens and follows the lives of seven friends as the juggle, love, careers, loyalty, different cultural backgrounds and friendships in Downtown Los Angeles
I’ve had the opportunity to preview most of the first season and let me tell you – I’m hooked. You get so invested in the characters and their complex lives are really something I think a lot of us will be able to relate to. In addition to Stephens, who is also one of the writers and producers, the series also stars, Danny Roberts, Matthew Stephen Herrick, Marshelle Fair, Patrick McDonald, Ernest Pierce, Scott Pretty, Tiffany "New York" Pollard, Hiro Tanaka and more. Also making guest appearances are familiar faces such as Leslie Jordan (Will & Grace), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), Melanie Griffith and Sandra Bernhard, the latter actresses playing lesbian lovers.
Let's just hope Logo doesn't skim on the sex and won't decide to do DTLA dirty like they did Noah's Arc.
Check out the trailer for the series below, and be sure to tune in to DTLA when it premieres on October 24 at 11 pm on Logo. Because if you won't support original LGBT programming, networks will feel they won't need to support them so let your voices be heard.
