Rumors have been swirling for quite some time that Khloe Kardashian (the one with the actual personality) is in talks to becoming the new host of The X Factor. Now comes word that Extra and America's Best Dance Crew host Mario Lopez may be sharing some hosting duties as well.
Rumors regarding this story have yet to be confirmed, but Celebuzz is reporting producers are close to securing a deal with Kardashian and Lopez.
“Khloe has been offered the role,” a source said. “But the deal is still being finalized.”
"I know whom I would like, but now I have to get it approved by the network," Simon Cowell told Ellen Degeneres earlier this month. "We have screen-tested a load of people. ... It could be a Kardashian. I think that would work. I'm quite a fan of not putting [experienced] hosts on this show. Because I think it's going to give it a different dynamic. So we have to find people who have a great chemistry, but Khloé is definitely up there in [the] running."
When I first heard that The X Factor was in need of a host, Mario's name crossed my mind but I never said it out loud in conversation. I think he would be a great addition to the show, since he has hosting experience. My only worry is by adding Khloe this is another page taken out of the Simon Cowell hand book where we're putting style and popularity before substance, which is understandable since The Voice is beating The X Factor in the ratings. Khloe may be full of personality on her hit reality show, but hosting a TV show is an entirely different ball game.
