AURAL ORGASM: CIARA - SOPHOMORE

I've said it plenty of times already whenever I hear a new Ciara song come out every other day. I'm really rooting for her to succeed with her One Woman Army album, and I sense from thei smorgasbord of tracks that her label is trying to figure out what sound will stick and give her a hit. I thought she was on the right track with Livin' It Up, because it took her away from the urban sound that wasn't getting them bills paid and plopped her into the pop world, which is the demographic she should be going for. I've always said CiCi reminds me of a cross between Janet and Aaliyah with a bit of Britney thrown in, but the difference is the latter carved out her own niche with Timbaland and Missy. Sophomore has that sexy urban southern vibe that takes us back to her Goodies days, but as a single it won't get her beyond the 106 & Park crowd. Speaking of which, the singer is scheduled to co-host the show in a few days so I hope we will get more info on the upcoming album and what the official single will be.
