In an upcoming film that will play as an autobiographical springboard to many actors hiding in the already overcrowded celluloid closet, actress and Chelsea Handler's BFF Reese Witherspoon is set to play the lead in an upcoming romantic comedy called The Beard.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon will star in the project and produce with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping of Cherinin Entertainment and Mason Novick.
For those not in "the know," a beard is a woman who pretends to be the significant other of an A-list celebrity who happens to be a raging homosexual behind closed doors. So basically it's a role better suited for someone like, say, Kelly Preston or Katie Holmes.
I personally don't think her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe was gay, but I'm sure she's dated many a closeted. Now I'm just curious as to who will play the male closet case. My vote's on her ex Jake Gyllenhaal.
