PRODUCER REDONE INKS DEAL WITH CASH MONEY RECORDS

Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician RedOne, who is the man behind Lady Gaga's biggest hits off her debut album The Fame and pushing the same recycled beat to Nicki Garbaj, Jennifer Lopez, Nayer, Mohombi, and Pitbull, to name a few has just inked a deal with widely popular hip hop label Cash Money Records.

So basically the Morocco-born producer will merge his label  2101 Records with Cash Money under the Universal Music Group umbrella.

“I have always been impressed with the way Slim and Baby do business,” said RedOne. “Their determination to build their artists’ careers from the ground to superstardom shows their sheer commitment. I have strived to work with the best in the industry throughout my career and this opportunity to partner my 2101 label with Cash Money on these projects is one such example. Together, we’ll be able to continue to help build global stars and make hit music that we hope fans around the world will enjoy.”

Says Slim, who welcomed the producer to the fam: “We consider Cash Money a family, and RedOne fits right in,” he stated. “He is a world-class producer, songwriter, musician, and now record executive who just adds to what we have built here, and look forward to expanding in the years ahead.”

The first two artists to get some recognition on the 2101 Records/Cash Money roster will be Swedish-Congolese singer/songwriter Mohombi and pop trio Talkback. Now since RedOne is part of YMCMB, here's hoping the producer can come up with some new beats for once because lord knows we don't want to hear 25 different artists on the YMCMB roster singing different songs over the same Starships beat.
