Ever since Drake released the hot new Aaliyah track Enough Said earlier this month, rumors have been swirling about a new album coming out featuring leftover vocals from the late singer.
On Wednesday, Aaliyah's uncle Barry Hankseron, who is the CEO of her label Blackground Records took to Twitter to give fans details on the album and even revealed the album cover.
Tweeted Hankerson: "Aaliyah 16 unreleased tracks 2013 stay tuned."
There has been some confusion on who will be producing the album, since Drake unleashed his Aaliyah collabor with production by Noah "40" Shebib. First Aaliyah's brother Rashad said her immediate family does not support this album. Then Missy and Timbaland squashed rumors that they were involved with the album and even said they were not contacted by Drake's team to even work on shelved Aaliyah material. Besides, Tim and Missy are working on their new albums, with the "Hit 'Em With A Hee" MC set to drop two new singles this weekend.
It's still unclear if the Haughton family has given their blessing, and even though I am a huge Aaliyah fan and I miss her dearly, I'm not sure she would be excited to hear songs she didn't have a chance to perfect make it's way on the new generation of music listeners.
