Ever since her little middle finger snafu back in February during Superbowl Half Time with Madonna and Nicki Garbaj, Sri Lankan singer/rapper M.I.A. has been pretty quiet on the musical front.
Much to my surprise Maya revealed some new via Twitter about her upcoming album: “if you want to know about LP = ask me questions and ill choose 10 to answer.”
M.I.A. said that her album, titled Matangi (which is her given name) is still being worked on and that it could have anywhere from five to 15 tracks on it — “depends on what sounds good in my bros CAR.” She also let everyone know that her fourth album will have: “no collabs!”
She also stated that Bad Girls will appear on the album and that she plans to release it sometime in December. She also plans to release a book, documentary and an art exhibition of some sort around the same time. While it's to be determined what exactly the album will sound like, M.I.A. told one fan that it will sound like “paul simon on acid.” Sounds like there will be a party in my head come winter.
