While American Idol is scrambling to find a few interesting judges who will not be afraid to say it like they mean it once the show returns in January, apparently it looks as if there some pretty interesting drama stewing behind the scenes. yesterday after it was revealed that Nicki Garbaj may be joining the judges table alongside Carey, word on the street is that the "Honey" songstress is none too pleased.
According to TMZ, before MC signed on the dotted line to critique a bunch of singing hopefuls for a whopping $17 million dollar paycheck, she was assured by producers that she would be the only female judge on the panel. But now that producers are looking to add a much younger and far more unqualified pop artist to the roster for ratings rather than for the sake of helping potential singers get the mentoring that they need, it only adds insult to injury.
A source told TMZ that when they broke the news that Garbaj would be on the show Mariah became so pissed she gave their asses dial tone. Mariah is filming a new movie called The Butler and while on set she did tweet a pic with her good friend and co-star Lenny Kravitz, who she hinted at as someone she would love to see with her on the show.
So with Mariah on the panel and allegedly Nicki, rumors are circulating that Randy will take the role of mentor rather than a judge, so that leaves rumored celebs such as Brad Paisley, Kravitz, Keith Urban Pharrell, Diddy, Kanye and Enrique Iglesias. I personally would love to see Lenny as a replacement for Steven Tyler. He's an awesome rock star and any guy would be stupid not to want to learn a thing or two from Lenny.
