LA TOYA JACKSON TO STAR IN HER OWN REALITY SHOW

Maybe this is why La Toya has been so quiet throughout all the Jackson drama (except for that one time she popped out her head like a groundhog to say she hoped the family would stop fighting). Yesterday Oprah Winfrey announced the fall schedule of shows that will be on the OWN network (the one channel that probably gets lesser viewers than Logo), and one of the shows happens to be a reality show starring La Toya Jackson (or is it a docu-series since Saint Oprah loves to turn up her nose at the trainwrecks that are making other channels millions while she continues to lose millions every day).

Titled "Life with La Toya," the program is expected to get "up close and personal" as La Toya "juggles the many demands of her famous family, her life-long friends, and her growing entertainment business empire," a statement from OWN says.

La Toya will try to balance her career, a dating life, and the possibility of starting a family of her own (I'm sure she'll probably do like Michael and buy her children, since at her age her eggs are most likely as dried up as the Sahara desert).

As we all know, Toy Toy is the outspoken one of the family while the rest of her siblings love to play cover-up on Twitter and in scripted letters read to TV networks, so it's understandable why La Toya's been quiet about all the family dynamics as of late. If she interfered with the family affairs like Randy, Janet, Rebbie and Jermaine, she and her cameras would not get to have access to the Jackson compound and probably Michael's kids, should they make an appearance.

As for other shows making the list, "Welcome To Sweetie Pies" will be back for a third season along with her Life Class and Next Chapter series, the latter to feature interviews with Kelsey Grammer and the new wife he cheated on his old wife with, Jennifer Hudson, Bette Midler and many more to be announced.

Upcoming new shows new shows that will feature Oprah (it's all about St. Oprah) will be called "TV Guide Magazine’s Top 25 Best Oprah Show Moments." which, as the title suggests will focus on the most memorable moments during "Oprah's" 25-year talk show run; that series will launch August 28 at 9 p.m.

OWN will also ask "Where are They Now?" of some of the long-running talk show's unforgettable guests, and Iyanla Vanzant will be on call to help the troubled with "Iyanla, Fix My Life." Vanzant's show will premiere on September 15, while Where Are They Now will premiere on October 2.

Another show on the horizon, "Neighborvention," will feature a new community each week as its members come together and help out a neighbor in need; and "The Customer is Always Right," which allows two customers to essentially act as consultants for big-name companies and gives them the chance to earn $10,000 if the companies like the changes suggested.

So basically besides the La Toya Jackson reality show and a few Next Chapter episodes, Oprah will be back to square one: a bunch of shows on her network that no one will care to watch. I personally think she's done great for her brand, but I think people (like myself) are balking at the channel because it just comes across as preachy, and unless you are in church every sunday sitting before your pastor, I don't think most people want to be preached to all day every day. Not even the most devout christians. So while I know Oprah will fight every fiber in her being not to go the route of other networks (by putting any Kuntrashian or Toddlers & Tiaras-esque shows on her network), she and her team need to come up with better ideas to hook the viewers or she will continue to watch her network fail.
