With three back-to-back hits under his belt (Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, The Avengers and The Bourne Legacy), it was only a matter of time before actor Jeremy Renner was painted with the gay brush. While rumors have circulated for years about his alleged long romance with best friend Kristoffer Winters, Renner has finally addressed the gay rumors in Details magazine as "horseshit!"
Here's what the 41-year-old actor had to say about being accused of being gay in The Hollywood Reporter:
"I want my personal life to be personal, and it's not fucking true," Renner said. "And I don't care if you're talking about things that are true, you're still talking about my personal life. How about I go peek in your window, take that underwear you wore last night, whose husband you were fucking, and show that in the megaphone throughout your neighbourhood? How does that feel?"
Renner brought up the old saying that you know you've made it in Hollywood when people consider you're gay: "I talked to some other friends of mine about the rumours when I first heard them," he told UK's Guardian. "I said, 'Have you seen this?' and they were like, 'Dude, do you know how long that's been online?' Look up any actor and it's the second thing that comes up. I have gay rumours - guess I've made it!"
Who are those friends you've talked to Jeremy? Tom Cruise? I don't know I get a strong gay vibe from him and I understand that people on the A-list feel that they won't have a career if they come out but it's 2012 and I don't think being gay is a big issue anymore except for bigots and scared Hollywood folk who love their money and chamber of secrets too damn much are advising him to stay in the closet to protect their new A-list asset. It also makes me wonder about the story that came out last month of Ted Casablanca losing his job at E! for outing Jeremy. While I love the fact that there are still actors left who would like to keep aspects of their personal life private, if in fact Jeremy is gay it's going to make him look worse for lying about his sexuality and getting so hung up over people spreading gay rumors about him.
