DR. DRE DEVELOPING SCRIPTED SERIES FOR FX
Dr. Dre has had his hand in every genre possible, from giving us some of the best beats to ever grace the west coast, to a few acting roles and his Beats By Dre headphones. Now Dre has just inked a deal to develop a scripted drama for FX, which is home to edgy fare like Wilfred, American Horror Story and Justified, to name a few.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the 47-year-old West Coast icon will develop the show with the cable network and writer Sidney Quashi. The one-hour series, which takes place in Los Angeles, explores the music business and crime business.
Dre will serve as executive producer of the drama, while Quashi is billed as creator and executive producer. Daniel Schnider will co-executive produce for Dre’s Crucial TV, along with co-EP Brad Bertner. Here's hoping that the show will take a page out of The L.A. Complex and add a gay rapper storyline as well.
P.S. When is Dre releasing the Detox album?
