While no one cared to see Katy Perry's very calculated documentary Part Of Me in theaters, pop superstar Beyoncé is set to follow in the footsteps of fellow musician domentaries that we've seen over the years from the likes of Miley Cyrus/Hanna Montana, The Glee Cast, The Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber and Perry with a documentary of her own.
According to the LA Times, Beyoncé and her team at agency ICM are shopping around a documentary to different studios chronicling the singer's heavily-guarded life and career. The doc will blend “concert footage with confessional interview,” a source told the paper.
Bey has shows a few distributors 20 minutes of footage to get them interested in the doc, and word is that Beyoncé will direct, produce and star in the film. I'm sure distributors will be fighting to invest their money into this film, but since like Perry all we're going to get is whatever Beyoncé wants us to see (I can't imagine the image-conscious performer allowing us to see flaws and all like Madonna back when she did Truth or Dare), why not put up your own money for the film and release it on DVD? Because I highly doubt these days that your hardest of fans would be willing to pay a full price movie ticket to see Beyoncé talk about her self for 90 minutes on the big screen unless you're willing to be open and balls-to-the-wall honest with them.
