A few weeks ago I wound up getting into a bit of trouble on my Facebook page when I insinuated that since it's been almost seven years that Justin Timberlake has dropped a new album, the mainstream music industry has manufactured Justin Bieber into a wannabe version of Timberlake, the former who transitioned quite nicely from a bubblegum pop performer in a boy band into a blue-eyed soul solo star.
So basically pointing out that some child from a small town in Canada changed up his style into having employed more black people than the NAACP (by singing and rapping over a hip pop beat) and having stylists pick out his outfits as if they watched Boyz N' Da Hood one too many times so this loser could come across as cool and mature makes me a racist? Then clearly you don't know the difference between racism and sheer observation.
So anyways, a YouTube user named Raheem D also noticed the similarities between the two Justins and created an awesome mashup of Bieber's Boyfriend with N*SYNC's Girlfriend and the similarities are uncanny. So while JB may get upset with all the JT comparisons, I'm starting to really think that he's pissed because the truth hurts rather than coming out with your own style. So while people are quick to get on female artists like Lady Gaga for lazily ripping Madonna, I say we should all be fair and get on Chris Brown for ripping off Michael Jackson, and the Beebs for swagger jacking Justin Timberlake.
