RIHANNA SET TO LAUNCH OWN FASHION LINE
Pop superstar Rihanna, who also happens to have her own fashion reality show currently airing over in the UK, has decided to jump into a career of fashion of her own.
The singer, who by the way has a team of stylists who put her together so she clearly knows alot about individual style announced on her blog this morning that she will design a line for the London-based brand River Island.
Here's what she said on her blog: “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me.”
She added, “I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”
Yes the forefront of cutting-edge fashion is in London (a place where she is much bigger than in America, and that's saying alot because her music gets played all the time here), but is she going to truly be involved in her fashion line like Gewn Stefani, or will the very busy performer, who releases a new album every three weeks go more of the Jennifer Lopez route and just have a bunch of people putting your former lines Sweetface and J Lo together as she watches her line go bankrupt? i can also imagine the clothes blurring the lines between edgy and slutty, something RiRi does all too well.
Rihanna’s collection is slated to debut in Spring 2013.
