While American Idol is desperate searching their rolodex for a few big names to join their lackluster singing competiton next season, The Voice, which just received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Reality Show Competition just secured two big names as mentors. Hip Hop/Soul goddess Mary J. Blige and singer Michael Buble will serve as advisors for Team Adam Levine and Team Blake Shelton, respectively.
So far no names have been attached to Cee Lo's or Christina's teams, but I say why not get Frank Ocean to mentor Team Cee Lo? He's a hot commodity right now and he's a great songwriter and musician, so I think his expertise will go a long way on the show. As for Mary I would love to see what she brings as a mentor, and although I don't listen to Michael Buble's music, I have seen him in interviews and he's very funny, charismatic and engaging, so he's perfect for the show. I can't think of anyone who would be able to work on Team Christina because almost everyone in the business hates her.
