MADONNA TO CHANGE OPENING OF TOUR TO COMMEMORATE WWII UPRISING IN POLAND
Madonna is no stranger to controversy, most recently coming under fire for applying a swastika on the head of France's Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Front party, and while most think she always uses controversy for attention, I always see it as a way to raise awareness to those not familiar with the things going on around the world, and a wake up call to the sleeping dragons that everyone has become in a world full of political blasphemy and chaos.
Madonna is scheduled to perform her MDNA Tour during the 68th anniversary of the World War II uprising against Nazis in Warsaw, which has sparked outrage and protests from a Catholic group.
For those who may be a history refresher, the 1944 Warsaw Uprising lasted for 63 days and resulted in an estimated 150,000-200,000 civilian deaths, and when she performs in Poland on August 1, instead of the usual Act of Contrition that opens the show, her tour will now open with a video that commemorates the historical uprising — before she launches into the opening track Girl Gone Wild.
