JERSEY SHORE RIP-OFF K-TOWN FINALLY MAKES IT TO YOUTUBE

A few years ago when Jersey Shore quickly rose to fame after MTV hyped up the punch to the face Snooki got at the club, a gazillion other copycats soon followed, including two gay shows I tried out for like Under The Boardwalk and an untitled Fire Island reality show that was to be produced by World of Wonder.

One of the shows I had heard about was a Jersey Shore-esque series with a Korean cast called K-Town, and I had thought they show would never see the light of day until recently, when I discovered that YouTube is now airing the series.

The series, set in Los Angeles’ Koreatown, is filled with all the stereotypical characters that's expected from a show like this, such as the Diva, the Musclehead, the Party Guy, the Romantic, etc. I even remember when the show was in the auditioning process and gay porn star Peter Le (pictured above) was initially supposed to be a part of the series, but I guess producers (who said they dropped Peter due to scheduling conflicts) were afraid to have a gay reality star on their show upstage the rest of the boring cast, just like I can see why networks would be afraid to have a reality show featuring gay men only (not counting that mess that was The A-List).  In fact, I don't think The Real World has ever had an Asian gay castmate.

When I drove all the way to New Jersey to audition for Under The Boardwalk, I had a great time talking to the creators and mingling with the potential cast mates, who weren't shy when it came to letting it all hang out after a few drinks.
