Just days after rumors began to fly that Jennifer Lopez's ginormous ass was out and Adam Lambert was possibly in as a judge for season 12, the pop star announced this morning that after two years on the show she's ready to move on.
This morning, the singer appeared on the Today show via satellite in Philadelphia (she's currently on tour prmoting her new album with Enrique Iglesias as her opening act) to promote the umteenth and unnecessary Ice Age movie, she was asked about her future on the show:
“I signed on to just do the one year and I wound up doing two years,” Lopez said. “It’s a tough decision, either way, but I have to say that there are so many other things that I do and that I’ve put on hold for that. At the end of the day, whichever way, it’s a heartbreaking decision if I’m gonna have to go.”
While she hasn't given a definite"yes" or "no", being the obvious dingbat that she is, Lopez says she's slowly coming to a final decision. “Everybody wants that definite yes or no,” J.Lo lamented. She then added, “But I am thinking maybe it’s time for me to go and do the other things that I really love to do, like films and right now I’m on tour, and performing.”
I hate the fact that she's still trying to tease everyone by not giving a definitel answer. Just say you're looking to make more bad romantic comedies, and releasing more shitty mediocre dance tracks that not even Britney Spears would touch and let's all move on with our lives.
J. Lo used the show as an opportunity to revive her D.O.A. music career and when she saw the amount of success she had with On The Floor by promoting it to death on the show (and for six months all over the world), she stuck around another season to promote her follow-up singles. I'm sure the extra amount of money they threw at her didn't hurt either. No one even gave a shit about her before Ameerican Idol and now she's ready to leave? I think for the viewers it's the best decision because she never brought anything to the show as a judge. She was there to show off her outfits but as far as giving constructive criticism to help the potential singers get better, she was completely and utterly clueless on the subject.
I say at this point producers need to give Adam a call immediately. he can sing his ass off, he knows what the contestants are going through every week (so he can give them some really great advice) and while his album did debut at #1, he could do like J Lo and use the show to further push his music.
