CRITICS WEIGH IN ON MADONNA'S TURN UP THE RADIO MUSIC VIDEO
So yesterday Madonna premiered her music video for Turn Up The Radio, and while I already gave my opinion (Madonna seems to be aging in reverse but she looked like she'd rather be on tour cashing those MDNA checks), critics have weighed in on what they thought of her little tour around Italy with her MDNA dancers.
:: The Huffington Post: “When the world starts to get you down, just take a drive through the Italian countryside with your attractive male driver. Oh, and don’t forget pick up a few vagabonds along the way for an epic backseat dance party. Madonna looks like she’s truly living la dolce vita in the new music video for her latest MDNA single…”
:: Metro: “The 53-year-old songstress, sporting a giant hairstyle, looks fabulous in a pair of figure-hugging leather shorts and a clingy top that exposes her bra as she escapes the paparazzi and climbs into a stylish car.”
:: Vulture: “Congratulations to all the very handsome male models getting their first acting break in this video (especially the trio who show up around the three minute, twenty second mark and really explore the feelings behind that hitchhiker thumb) and also to Madonna, for continuing to look remarkably good in a leotard. She just does.”
::Chart Rigger: “Dance with Madonna at your own risk, boys. She’ll live for thousands of years, regardless, while you’ll end up dead at 28, face down in a ditch with your boxer briefs around your ankles.”
:: The Improper: “Thanks to copious use of soft-focus lenses, Madonna looks as smooth as a 20-year-old.”
:: The Ology: “Heavy sigh. Remember a time when pop videos didn’t have to shimmer and sparkle, when you didn’t need choreographed dance routines or outlandish costumes? Remember when cars and cleavage was enough? Madonna clearly does.”
:: Spin: “The pop queen’s current squeeze, Brahim Zaibat, even pops in for a cameo. Hey, music makes the people get together.”
:: After Elton: “I’m still trying to figure out why this has an ‘explicit’ warning. I think Madonna crotch shots are considered quaint now.”
