CHRISTOPHER NOLAN HAS NO PLANS TO DIRECT JUSTICE LEAGUE MOVIE; OFFICIALLY DONE WITH HIS TAKE ON BATMAN
I'm definitely not surprised by this, but since Christopher Nolan made Warner Bros. (who also owns DC Comics) a shitload of money with the first two Batman films (and no doubt the sequeal will make double when it comes out in two weeks), it was only fitting to ask him to helm the highly-anticipated Justice League movie right? Wrong!
The director squashed the rumors (and broke a lot of fanboys hearts in the process) when he was asked in an interview with The Associated Press if he would consider directing a Justice League movie?
"No, none at all," Nolan said. "We're finished with all we're doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character."
"Batman will outlive us all, and our interpretation was ours., Nolan continues. "Obviously, we consider it definitive and kind of finished. The great thing about Batman is he lives on for future generations to reinterpret, and obviously, Warners will have to decide in the future what they're going to do with him," Nolan said. "We've had our say on the character. ...
"I've got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any 'Justice League' project."
While Marvel is thriving with their countless comic book movies, DC really needs to get the ball running, especially since Marvel has four movies cooking (Iron Man 3 is now shooting while Captain America 2 and Thor 2 are both in the works as well as a sequel to The Avengers), and after TDKR makes all their money, we have to wait until 2013 for the Man of Steel to come out. I know they're working on reconstructing the umteenth Wonder Woman script, but in regards as to which studio is cranking them out, Marvel has DC in spades.
