CHER TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM BY YEAR'S END
It seems like Cher has been working on her new album since before speech replaced sign-language, and after the long wait, the pop icon has announced that she plans to drop a new single by October and a full album by Christmas.
A year ago we learned that she was reworking a demo written and sang by Lady Gaga and produced by RedOne called The Greatest Thing, and that was the last we heard of Cher on the music front. So how awesome is it that Cher took to her favorite social networking vice to reveal news on whether or not The Greatest Thing will be on her first album of new material since Living Proof in 2001.
The singer did state that her collaboration with Gaga is not going to be the album's first single. Instead she's pushing for an untitled dance track that she says is "as good as 'Believe,'" For those who remember, Believe was one of Cher's biggest hits and put her on the map with "Generation Y," and also sparked a few parodies on shows like Will & Grace, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer since it was a track that was played every five seconds on the radio.
I'm actually excited for some new Cher music, and since she is going dance again (like she did on both Believe and Living Proof albums) I'm looking forward to hearing what the songs sound like as well as the first single.
