WATCH: ALICIA KEYS FINDS HERSELF ON NEW ALBUM

It's been a long time since we've heard some new music from Alicia Keys (Element of Freedom came out in 2009). After all, the singing homewrecker has been pretty busy being a mother to husband/producer Swizz Beatz's baby. Well recently she released a video on YouTube talking about what fans can expect from her upcoming fifth album.

“I’ve come to this place that the album is about to be ready and I feel just so crazy excited,” said Alicia. “It’s like I’m a different person. I’m a new person. Everything is new, from being married and having a baby… I’ve become so much more intelligent and I survey the landscape more and try to come up with what’s the best thing for me, what’s the best thing for Egypt, what’s the best thing for our family.”

She continued, “I’ve gone through so much growth and so much realization and realizing that in life different things come and different things change. I’ve learned that I have to trust myself and trust my instincts. I had to and I have to be braver than I’ve ever had to be before.”

I do feel with so much shitty dance music coming out right now, the music world does need some balance in regards to some soulful music with depth, and I'm sure AK will bring it as usual. I know some people will look at me like I'm crazy (and I don't care), but I have always struggled to see what the big deal is about her? I bought her debut album and tried my best to get into her music, but to me Alicia is the female version of John Legend. Great piano players with okay voices but as far as songs go, I've never been truly wowed by her music. I am curious since she says that she's learned to trust her instincts and accept all her flaws does that mean she'll talk about messing with a married man on the album?
